About the course

Research Methodology is a core course designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and scientific mindset needed to understand and apply research methodology. It covers the fundamentals of scientific research, the philosophy of science and research paradigms, problem formulation, literature and theory review, hypothesis development, research design, data collection techniques, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, through to writing research reports that meet academic standards.

Throughout the course, students are trained to think systematically, critically, and objectively when designing research that can be defended on scientific grounds. They are introduced to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches, and learn to use information technology in searching for data, analysing it, and producing scholarly work.

Special emphasis is placed on research ethics, academic integrity, and the avoidance of plagiarism, so that students master not only the technical skills of research but also the moral awareness and scholarly responsibility required at every stage of the research process.

By completing this course, students should be able to design, conduct, and present research findings both orally and in writing \u2014 for academic purposes (theses, articles, research reports) as well as for advancing knowledge and solving real problems in society.
