- Field presence and virtual participation
- Participant relationships, trust, and consent
- Contextual knowledge and language competence
- Emotional understanding, moral judgment, and community accountability
AI Must Never Invent
- Field notes or virtual field notes
- Participants, usernames, posts, comments, interviews, or quotations
- Observations, rituals, social practices, or life histories
- Communities, platform evidence, or ethnographic findings
Required Safeguards
