How services are organized

KBA13 Academy delivers work in five areas: research, publishing, AI laboratory, courses and training, and consulting. Everything below sits in one of those, and every engagement follows the same route: a scoping conversation, a written proposal with explicit scope, then delivery.

Research services

Research services covers commissioned research, literature and evidence review, and supervised analytical work. Research assistance supports researchers who need method or capacity rather than a complete study.

Policy analysis produces policy-facing assessment for government and institutional clients. Strategic intelligence delivers commissioned strategic assessment, and OSINT services lawful open-source collection and verification. Early warning services builds and operates indicator and alert systems for a defined situation.

All analytical work follows the published analytical standards: explicit confidence, named assumptions, alternative explanations, stated limitations, and human approval. Analytical delivery is handled by the Intelligence Center.

Publishing and academic communication

Publishing services covers scholarly and professional publication. Editorial services provides editing, structural review, and preparation for submission. Academic writing services supports authors developing manuscripts to publishable standard.

These are support and editorial functions. They do not include ghost-authorship of work to be submitted under someone else’s name as original scholarship, which is an integrity boundary rather than a scoping preference. Publication itself runs through KBA13 Publishing.

AI laboratory services

AI laboratory services covers applied experimentation, evaluation, and technical advisory work. AI prototype development builds working prototypes for defined institutional use cases. AI transformation services addresses organization-wide adoption.

Engagements frequently conclude that a proposed automation should not proceed, or that documenting the underlying process delivers most of the available benefit before any tool is introduced. That finding is delivered rather than avoided. Applied development sits with the AI Laboratory.

Courses, training, and education

Course services covers course development and delivery for institutions. Institutional courses are private cohorts built around an organization’s own problems, and professional training shorter applied programmes.

Executive education provides compressed, decision-focused programmes for senior leaders, delivered in sector-specific tracks. Professional certificates covers credential pathways. University development supports institutional strategy, curriculum, quality assurance, and academic governance in higher education.

All certificates are non-degree and confer no academic credit or accreditation. Terms are set out on the certification page, programme structures under institutional programs and executive programs, and the full teaching catalogue in the course catalog.

Consulting and knowledge management

Consulting covers institutional advisory work for governments, universities, and organizations. Knowledge management services addresses how institutions capture, structure, transfer, and lose knowledge.

Advisory engagements are delivered by KBA13 Consulting and begin with needs assessment rather than a proposal, because the engagement an organization requests and the one it needs frequently differ.

Membership

Membership, institutional membership, and premium membership describe ongoing access arrangements rather than one-off engagements.

Membership terms and availability are confirmed at enquiry stage. Where a tier is not yet open, that is stated rather than implied, consistent with the Academy’s practice of not offering what it cannot yet deliver.

Pricing and how to engage

Pricing is quoted per engagement rather than published as a fixed list, because scope, duration, cohort size, and customization vary substantially. Indicative ranges and the factors that drive them are set out in the pricing guide.

Every engagement begins the same way. Submit a proposal request describing the problem rather than the product you think you need. A scoping conversation follows, then a written proposal stating objectives, method, deliverables, schedule, price, and explicitly what is out of scope. Scope left vague at proposal stage becomes disputed at delivery stage, so it is fixed in writing first.

What we decline

Stating this is more useful than another list of capabilities.

The Academy does not produce work under someone else’s name to be submitted as their original scholarship. It does not conduct surveillance, profile private individuals, or accept commissions requiring unlawful collection, and a request of that kind is declined rather than scoped around. It does not issue accredited degrees or represent its certificates as accreditation. It does not deliver analysis at a confidence level the available evidence cannot support, however inconvenient that is for a deadline.

It also declines engagements where training is the requested intervention but the underlying problem is structural. In those cases the honest recommendation is advisory work, or occasionally no engagement at all.

The reason to publish this is practical. Every one of those boundaries is easier to hold when it was stated before the negotiation started, and clients who need work of this kind are better served knowing where the limits are.
