Public Policy

Evidence and options for public decisions: policy analysis that is transparent about assumptions and trade-offs.

Overview

Scope of the domain

This domain produces policy analysis that public institutions, legislators and civil society can actually use. Research examines how policies are designed, communicated and experienced, with particular attention to the gap between official statistics and lived experience, and to the legitimacy that policies build or erode.

Policy work at KBA13 is explicitly non-partisan and evidence-led. Each paper states its assumptions, data sources and limitations, and offers options rather than slogans. The domain draws on survey data, fiscal records, field observation and the early-warning framework, and connects to the AI Laboratory’s political risk monitor.
