Research Domain 14 of 16
Futures Studies
Scenarios, trajectories and strategic foresight for Indonesia, Southeast Asia and the planetary future.
Overview
Scope of the domain
The Futures Studies domain uses scenario planning, trend analysis and civilisational cycles to think systematically about what may come. Work ranges from short-horizon forecasts about Indonesian politics to long-range trajectories reaching toward 2045 and beyond.
Foresight at KBA13 is disciplined by accountability: scenarios carry explicit probabilities and indicators, and they are audited openly when the future arrives. The domain connects to the School of Futures & Strategic Foresight and to AI Laboratory tools for generation and risk trajectories.
Key research questions
- Which scenarios are most plausible for Indonesia toward 2030 and 2045?
- How can probabilistic forecasts be audited fairly?
- What long cycles shape civilisational rise and decline?
