Overview
Scope of the domain
This domain develops and teaches the methods that make every other domain credible. It covers qualitative, quantitative, mixed and comparative designs, futures methods, source discipline, and the responsible integration of AI into research without surrendering human judgement.
Methodological work at KBA13 is practical and testable. The Seven-Stage Knowledge Production Framework proposes measurable propositions and a scoring rubric, and published forecasts are audited to learn from error. The domain connects to the School of Research Methodology & Academic Practice and the AI Research Assistant.
