Medical Sciences
Health, medicine and society: evidence for clinical, public-health and ethical questions in a changing world.
Overview
Scope of the domain
The Medical Sciences domain connects biomedical evidence with the social, cultural and institutional conditions that determine health outcomes. Research priorities include public-health systems after disasters, the ethics of medical AI, health communication in plural religious societies, and the historical traditions of medicine in the Malay and Islamic worlds.
The domain is intentionally interdisciplinary. Projects are designed with clinicians, public-health specialists and social scientists, and every claim that touches clinical practice is subject to specialist human review before publication. The aim is to produce reusable evidence summaries, policy notes and learning materials rather than medical advice.
